The choreographies
of Ilona Paszthy are drawn out of the desire for crossing
over borders by exploring the tensions between sound, rigid
objects and movement. Using the confrontation between the
static and sculptural set design created by the Cologne sculptor,
MiegL, and new forms of movement, she provokes unusual and
impulsive dance.
Like in a collage, she breaks the narrative flow in favor
of a reordered and openly dramaturgical whole. Like in a kaleidoscope,
her approach bursts open the central thematic image. She creates
parallel, flexible spaces with contrasting viewpoints which
she resolves again and again.
The spaces and realities which throughout the performance
reveal themselves are left to the audience to experience.
