In her avantgarde dance pieces, the Cologne choreographer Ilona Paszthy explores the vulnerabilities of the modern human being. Overwrought, alone, torn between power and powerlessness, between loss of self and the quest for new experiences, humankind struggles with itself and with the world.
With the mediums of dance-theater, music, film and visual art, Ilona creates new spaces of perception.

In a tangled game of differing realities and time dimensions, she breaks apart the more conventional perspectives of time and space. Abrupt changes between hard techno, melancholic sound-scapes and absolute stillness become a unique rhythm for the at times aggressive and other times flowing movement of the dancer. Through the confrontation between the stark visual and audio elements, what was before invisible slowly evolves.
