Four qualities of tasting: sweet, sour,
salty, bitter
Four dancers, four people meet... Lippenbitter shows different
aspects of the delicate sensuality of tasting and the loss
of senses, between pleasure and compensation, between daily
life and absurdity.
Sour and sweet
... the centre and turning point of the choreography is the
stage object created by the Cologne artist MiegL. The multifunctional
object creates different settings and allows the dancers to
use it as a turnstile, a sofa, as a wall or just as a box
in which they try to hide their aberration and dependence
on strong desires, their loss of control.
Besides touching and meditative images there are also funny
scenes: the dancers appear without heads and the actor explains
the audience the correct preparation of baby-, woman- or happiness-tea.
You can buy and consume everything even when the wide range
of offers become an absurd and even destructive excess. Ilona
Pászhty deals critically with the loss of taste of
our society without taking herself too seriously.
